Denying Christ
« on: July 28, 2010, 10:47:33 PM »
I think denying Christ looks different to different folks. Some will say denying Christ is simply not believing in Jesus.  If one can't say they are sure He is the Son of God and they are sure He died a horrible death and understand all the whys about it then, they've denied Christ.  But to me, someone who denies Christ is someone who hears His teachings of love and says, no, I'm doing just the opposite.

I'm not going to care about my neighbor, I'm in it for number one.  I'll put my own wants and needs before anyone else.  And folks can do this while at the same time preaching you better say Christ is God's son or you're going to hell.  So which is it?  The one that doesn't do His will or the one that just doesn't understand it all and is honest about that but still loves?

Our righteousness is as filthy rags before The Lord...if we deny Him He will deny us...we need to be saved or we will be heading for a lost eternity.

When Peter denied The Lord the cock crowed. If we see someone in need and do nothing about it when we are able to help..we deny The Lord and the cock crows for us. There are many examples of times  in our lives when we deny Christ and we all do from time to time and although we dont always hear it ..that cock will crow, if our spiritual ears are open we will hear it.

We are all still a work in progress and we all have and will fail, but He will complete that work which He has began in us.
Proverbs 26:11 (King James Version)
As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.

Marel not; ye must be born again. No man cometh to me except my Father draw him and no man cometh to the Father except by me.

Can't crawl in on your own.

Some very good points there.

Yes there is the flagrant denial of Christ before an unbelieving world, but when believers deny Christ His proper place in their lives then that is also a denial of His Lordship.

Good points as TOB notes. Jesus is Messiah (Christ), King of Kings, Lord of Lords and Savior.

He is Messiah, KoK and LoL regardless if you are saved or not. But as being born again we've been given a new spirit. Still none are perfect but Jesus nor can we be as the great points Dawkins Basher listed. However, we can through ignorance or willfulness not put Jesus as Lord over our lives having His proper place as preminance so we take up our cross and do His will. Maybe for some; His will is to be faithful and of good stewardship while others proclaim the gospel and lead.

I can't see a Christian denying Jesus. But one's walk may not be what it should. WHY? White washing things over and giving concessions to the modernists and becoming complacient with and focusing on worldly goods. It affects the next generation which are our children and grandchildren.

The Bible is the inspired word of God. The GEN account is 100% correct where we understand it completely or not. The history in the Bible is correct as its doctrine. It will be used as a book of judgement.

God created the heavens and earth and He gave us His inspired, infallible word and promised to perserve it and has. Today we have it in the KJV; 100% correct, true, no errors, no mistakes and no contridictions. Make no mistake about this. Do not get into the trap set by satan that God's infallible word does not exist today. This is on par with denial of Jesus. Saying you have to be a textual critics and read Hebrew and greek is hogwash. We do have God's words.

men and women may deny Christ but one day Christ will deny them a place in heaven: "depart from me ye cursed for I never knew you"
