Questions for KJV Critics

Since you're smart enough to find "mistakes" in the KJV, why don't you correct them all and give us a perfect Bible?

Do you have a perfect Bible?

Since you do believe "the Bible" is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice, could you please show us where Jesus, Peter, James, Paul, or John ever practiced your terminology ("the Greek text says...the Hebrew text says....the originals say...a better rendering would be....older manuscripts read...." etc.)?

Since you do not profess to have a perfect Bible, why do you refer to it as "God's word"?

Remembering that the Holy Spirit is the greatest Teacher (John 16:12-15; John 2:27), who taught you that the King James Bible was not infallible, the Holy Spirit or man?

Since you do believe in the degeneration of man and in the degeneration of the world system in general, why is it that you believe education has somehow "evolved" and that men are more qualified to translate God's word today than in 1611?

There is one true God, yet many false gods. There is one true Church, consisting of true born-again believers in Christ, yet there are many false churches. So why do you think it's so wrong to teach that there is one true Bible, yet many false "bibles"?

Isn't it true that you believe God inspired His holy words in the "originals," but has since lost them, since no one has a perfect Bible today?

Isn't it true that when you use the term "the Greek text" you are being deceitful and lying, since there are MANY Greek TEXTS (plural), rather than just one?

Before the first new perversion was published in 1881 (the RV), the King James Bible was published, preached, and taught throughout the world. God blessed these efforts and hundreds of millions were saved. Today, with the many new translations on the market, very few are being saved. The great revivals are over. Who has gained the most from the new versions, God or Satan?

Bible Discussion / Sola Scripture
« on: July 21, 2014, 09:31:52 AM »
The Protestant reformation focused their beliefs on the five solas. I think they are to only useful for Protestants but for all those who hold the boa and the bible alone as their sole rule of faith and practice. Some churches produces their own constitution and other groups produce their own confessions. These may be good and useful but they can never replace the Word of God as our sole rule of faith and practice. so I am Sola scripture, only scripture is authorative as our rule of faith and practice. Although constitutions and confessions may be useful to catalogus what we believe they can never replace scripture and it's authority.

Isaiah 14:1-2
Chapter 14
For the Lord will have mercy on Jacob,
and will yet choose Israel,
and set them in their own land:
and the strangers shall be joined with them,
and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.
And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place:
and the house of Israel shall possess them
in the land of the Lord for servants and handmaids:
and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were;
and they shall rule over their oppressors.

Bible Discussion / Dead yet living!

A US man declared dead after he disappeared nearly three decades ago cannot now be declared officially alive, though he has returned home and is in good health, a judge has ruled.

Donald Miller of Ohio left behind a wife, two children and significant debt when he fled his home in 1986. He was declared legally dead in 1994, then re*-emerged in 2005 and attempted to apply for a driving license. A judge this week found death rulings cannot be overturned after three years.

Judge Allan Davis handed down the ruling in Hancock County, Ohio, probate court on Monday, calling it a "strange, strange situation," according to media reports.

"We've got the obvious here. A man sitting in the courtroom, he appears to be in good health,'' said the judge, finding that he was prevented by state law from declaring Mr Miller legally alive.

The judge added, "I don't know where that leaves you, but you're still deceased as far as the law is concerned."

With Mr Miller declared dead, his "widow" was entitled to Social Security death benefits to support their children. As Mr Miller remains legally deceased, She does not have to return those funds to the government.

Mr Miller's "death" came as a surprise to him when he re*emerged in 2005. He was later told of his status by his parents.

"It kind of went further than I ever expected it to," Mr Miller told the media. "I just kind of took off, ended up in different places."

Bible Discussion / W.P. Nicholson and the Word of God
« on: January 28, 2014, 07:24:37 PM »
The secret of his usefulness under God lay in his total commitment to the infallible Word of God. His missions always began with a series of searching messages to the converted. He believed in the power of God's law to convict the sinner and he preached the law as a preparation for the gospel. Few preachers exposed the nature and effects of sin as he did. The sinner was not a sick man who needed help but a dead man who needed life. He expounded clearly and faithfully the atoning work of Christ on the cross. His emphasis on the blood as the only means of redemption was made in almost every address. He was scathingly severe in his condemnation of theological liberals and Unitarians and all others who questioned the deity of Christ and the power of his atoning blood. His application of the Word was personal and pointed as he stressed repentance towards God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. He never presented an 'easy believism' or stooped to cheap 'decision making'. His confidence in the sovereignty of God was evident in all his preaching. His work was a lasting work because it was based on salvation by grace alone.
